MOST-H2 @ WIVA P&G Knowledge Exchange on Hydrogen Trains

On June 25th, 2024, MOST-H2 was part of a high-profile meeting with the Austrian flagship project “WIVA P&G HyTrain” together with international experts from the railway industry and leading research institutions.

The event served as a platform for exchanging knowledge and insights on the latest advancements in hydrogen-powered trains, highlighting the significant progress being made in this innovative field.

During this event, the WIVA P&G HyTrain project team presented the achievements of the project that started in 2020 and will be finalized in August 2024. In this time, holistic know-how regarding hydrogen trains was developed by the consortium that will be commercialized in the next step for train operators and related industry. The event included an in-depth overview of ongoing developments and a forward-looking discussion on the future of hydrogen technology in heavy-duty trains.

Niusha Shakibi Nia from FEN Research, during the first part of this event, emphasised the potential of the MOST-H2 project as a key storage solution under consideration for hydrogen-powered heavy-duty vehicles. Further deployment possibilities in the heavy-duty transport were discussed in the Q&A session.

The gathering at the Green Energy Center Europe highlighted the collaborative efforts between industry and research in driving forward sustainable transportation solutions.
