MOST-H2 at the Energie- and Klimafestival 2026, Karlsruhe: Engaging with the Public

On Saturday, 9 May 2026 (Europe Day), MOST-H2 took part again in the Energie- and Klimafestival in Karlsruhe, Germany. Following its participation two years ago, the project joined other EU-funded projects at the booth of project partner Steinbeis Europa Zentrum. The event offered a valuable opportunity to connect with citizens and discuss key topics related to the energy transition in an open and accessible way.

Throughout the day, visitors had the chance to learn more about the role of hydrogen and innovative storage solutions in building a more sustainable future. MOST-H2 was presented alongside other European research and innovation projects focusing on decarbonisation, sustainability, and the transformation towards a climate-neutral industry.

A particular highlight of the festival was the direct exchange with visitors of all ages. At the Steinbeis Europa Zentrum booth, many participants tested their knowledge through the energy quiz and tried their luck at the wheel of fortune. Younger visitors discovered the project in a playful way with the help of our comic “Nano the MOF”, which can be found on this website for Download (see under tab ‘Resources’, ‘Project Communication’). These interactive acitivies helped make complex scientific and technological topics more tangible and approachable for a wider audience. Interested participants were also invited to take part in our public survey to assess the social acceptance of hydrogen storage options and hydrogen-related technologies.

Events like the Energie- and Klimafestival show how important public dialogue is for bringing research and innovation closer to society. By engaging directly with citizens, MOST-H2 contributes to raising awareness of hydrogen technologies and their potential role in a cleaner energy future for Europe.

We would like to thank Steinbeis Europa Zentrum, the festival organisers, and all participating projects for a day of inspiring exchange, collaboration, and shared commitment to sustainability.
